Ms. Stranger is a 6-star Mineral Mental DPS arriving during the second half of Reverse: 1999 Version 3.7. Instead of relying on a conventional Ultimate-only burst cycle, her entire kit revolves around a Special Active Incantation called A Moth to a Flame. This card begins locked on the left side of the Spelldock, gains different Amplifications as the team uses cards, and becomes available for a devastating 0-AP attack after reaching the rightmost position. Her Global rate-up banner, Beneath the Guise of Her Cocoon, runs from September 3 to September 24, 2026.
This r1999 Ms. Stranger guide explains her Arcane Skills, gameplay, best builds, Psychubes, Resonance, Portrait priority, team compositions, and pull advice.

Building another DPS to Insight III, raising Resonance, and upgrading Psychubes requires plenty of Dust, Sharpodonty, and repeated farming. OSLink can run multiple Reverse: 1999 accounts through LDPlayer multi-instance while using synchronized controls or recorded routines for repetitive resource stages. You can also check those sessions remotely from your phone, which is useful when several accounts need materials at the same time.

Ms. Stranger's greatest advantage is frontloaded damage without spending AP on her signature special card. Her tradeoff is a more technical rotation: players need to understand card positions, Spelldock movement, and which card types build the Amplifications she wants.

Ms. Stranger Arcane Skill Explained
A Moth to a Flame

A Moth to a Flame is the center of Ms. Stranger gameplay.
At P0, it deals 440% Mental DMG to one enemy, costs 0 AP, and is treated as an Ultimate. It begins locked and must reach the rightmost side of the Spelldock before becoming usable. Once unlocked, Ms. Stranger also gains 3 Moxie.
The card gains up to four stacks of four different Amplification types depending on what cards allies actively use:
|
Card Type |
Amplification |
|
Single-target Attack / Debuff |
Extra Mental DMG, stronger primary-target damage |
|
Mass Attack / Debuff |
Additional AoE Mental DMG and more targets |
|
Buff / Counter |
Critical Rate and Ultimate Might |
|
Heal / Channel |
Critical DMG and Incantation Might |
This means Ms. Stranger team building is not just about raw buffs. Fast card cycling and varied card types directly improve her signature attack.
Cocoon Breaker

Cocoon Breaker is her single-target attack.
At Rank 1, it deals 200% Mental DMG. Its secondary effect depends on its position relative to A Moth to a Flame:
- Cast from the right side: gains 2 Last Piece of Herself.
- Cast from the left side: deals another 200% Mental DMG.
Last Piece of Herself helps move the next A Moth to a Flame farther right and adds Amplifications, making this card an important part of her cycle.
Phototactic Instinct

Phototactic Instinct deals 180% Mental DMG to all enemies at Rank 1 and applies Self-Deception for three rounds.
Self-Deception reduces the target's DMG Taken Reduction by 20%. When A Moth to a Flame hits that target, the attack also gains 15% Critical Rate and 30% Critical DMG.
Use it shortly before Ms. Stranger's major burst.
Implanted Memories

Her Ultimate is a self-buff rather than a conventional damage Ultimate.
It removes Stats Down and Neg Status effects from Ms. Stranger, grants New Life for two rounds, and gives one Silent Flutter stack.
New Life provides:
- DMG Taken Reduction +20%
- DMG Bonus +40%
- A Moth to a Flame Penetration Rate +20%
Silent Flutter causes her next active attacking Incantation to trigger another A Moth to a Flame, giving her access to repeated special-card bursts.
Ms. Stranger Gameplay and Rotation
The basic Ms. Stranger gameplay cycle is:
Cycle team cards → move A Moth to a Flame → build Amplifications and Moxie → apply Self-Deception → use Ultimate → unleash A Moth to a Flame
During setup, use teammates who can quickly remove or cycle their cards. Cocoon Breaker can also accelerate future special cards through Last Piece of Herself.
When A Moth to a Flame is nearly ready, apply Phototactic Instinct, activate Implanted Memories, and then enter the burst sequence.
The main mistake to avoid is firing the special card with poor setup just because it becomes available. Its strength depends heavily on Amplification stacks and the buffs/debuffs prepared beforehand.
Ms. Stranger Best Builds
When building Ms. Stranger:
Insight III → Psychube → Resonance → offensive stats
Insight III is particularly important because the first A Moth to a Flame generated at battle entry immediately moves eight positions to the right and receives 16 Amplifications, dramatically improving her opening burst.

ATK-oriented option |
Until I Am Me is the clear first choice among Ms. Stranger Psychubes. Her Incantations simultaneously benefit from Incantation Might and Ultimate Might, while A Moth to a Flame itself counts as an Ultimate, making the signature Psychube's stat package especially efficient.
Ms. Stranger Resonance
The current recommended Ms. Stranger resonance pattern is Elucidation.
This fits her because most of her decisive damage comes from A Moth to a Flame, which is treated as an Ultimate. Her Resonance should therefore stay focused on offensive output rather than defensive utility.
Recommended direction:
Elucidation → Crit / ATK / offensive stats
Best Ms. Stranger Team
Ms. Stranger prefers supports that cycle or discard cards quickly while providing strong buffs and debuffs.

AP-efficient support / card cycling |
Charon and Enigma provide an especially smooth cycling engine. Charon can discard cards and help allies reach their Ultimate windows, while Rhiannon can rapidly play her own cards for 0 AP after entering Aegis. That speeds up A Moth to a Flame while also supplying useful Buff and Debuff cards for Amplification.
Strong substitutes include Recoleta, Lopera, Moldir, Melania, Pickles, Mercuria, and 6.
Recoleta at P1 with Euphoria deserves special mention because Flood of Fiction can help Ms. Stranger accumulate several Silent Flutter stacks for a larger burst sequence.
Ms. Stranger Portrait Priority
Ms. Stranger portrait investment is optional because P0 already contains her complete core gameplay.

P2 is the standout practical breakpoint. New Life improves to +60% DMG Bonus and +30% Penetration Rate for A Moth to a Flame, while Silent Flutter-triggered special attacks receive four stacks of every Amplification type.
P5 raises A Moth to a Flame's base multiplier from 440% to 560% Mental DMG and strengthens all four Amplification effects, making it the maximum-damage option rather than a necessary investment.

Pull Advice: Should You Pull Ms. Stranger?
Ms. Stranger is a strong Mineral carry, but she is not a mandatory pull for every account.
Consider pulling her if you:
- Need a strong Mineral DPS.
- Already own Charon and Enigma.
- Have Rhiannon or strong Ritual-compatible supports.
- Enjoy technical card-position and burst-management gameplay.
- Simply like Ms. Stranger.
Consider skipping if you already have well-developed Mineral carries such as The Twins or Recoleta, lack suitable supports, or want a simpler damage dealer. Current evaluations also note that although her frontloaded damage is excellent, her long-term ceiling is not necessarily higher than dedicated archetype carries.
For most players, P0 is enough. P2 is the sensible stopping point only for players deliberately invest more heavily in her damage.
Final Thoughts
Ms. Stranger rewards planning more than button-mashing. Her best build centers on Until I Am Me, Elucidation Resonance, Insight III, and teammates capable of quickly cycling cards. The ideal combat sequence is to develop A Moth to a Flame, prepare Self-Deception and Amplifications, activate Implanted Memories, and then cash everything in during a concentrated 0-AP burst window.

If you are raising her alongside several support characters or managing alternate accounts, OSLink can also help with multi-instance AFK farming and repetitive resource collection, making it easier to stock Dust, Sharpodonty, and other upgrade materials while saving manual playtime for Ms. Stranger's more technical battles.
