Wang joins Arknights as a limited 6-star Trapmaster Specialist introduced with the Global 6.5th Anniversary event, First of A Thousand Autumns. Instead of fighting like a conventional ranged DPS, he deploys Weiqi Stones that connect across the map, activate one another, and deal Arts damage while controlling enemy movement.
Raising Wang to Elite 2, mastering Skill 3, and upgrading his module require plenty of repeated material runs. OSLink lets you remotely play Arknights on a PC or Android emulator from your phone. Its multi-instance support is also useful for managing more than one account, checking Auto Deploy farming, and spending Sanity afk.

Wang Role and Core Mechanic
Wang is a ranged Trapmaster focused on Arts burst damage, area denial, and crowd control. His traps do not consume normal deployment slots, allowing him to influence lanes far away from his own position.
His first talent, Mold Stones, gives him Weiqi Stones that activate one another when connected. At Elite 2 and base Potential, Wang can deploy six stones and hold up to seven. Manually placing a stone can also create additional adjacent pieces, letting him form much larger patterns than a normal one-tile trap setup.

His second talent, Every Move Anticipated, rewards straight stone chains. When one stone activates, every stone in the same continuous straight line gains additional damage and RES ignore for each stone in that chain, stacking up to three times. A planned three-stone line therefore performs considerably better than several scattered pieces.
Wang Skill Breakdown
Skill 1: Power Play

Power Play is an automatic skill that immediately restores two stones whenever it activates. When a stone is triggered, the target is heavily slowed and takes Arts damage every second for 6.5 seconds.
At Skill Level 7, each damage tick reaches 120% of Wang’s ATK and the skill costs 20 SP. M3 raises the multiplier to 135% and lowers the SP cost to 16.
It is a straightforward option for delaying isolated elites or dangerous enemies. However, its single-target damage-over-time effect does not exploit Wang’s line-based AoE potential as effectively as his later skills.
Skill 2: Wall of Stars

Wall of Stars is another automatic skill that grants two stones on activation. Triggering a stone deals Arts damage to enemies within three tiles on both sides of the connection line, then reduces their movement speed for six seconds.
At Level 7, it deals 480% of Wang’s ATK and applies a 40% movement-speed reduction. At M3, those values increase to 580% and 50%, while the SP cost falls from 16 to 15.
S2 is Wang’s smoothest general-use skill. It works particularly well on long corridors, repeated enemy waves, and farming stages. Its automatic activation also makes it easier to use in stable Auto Deploy clears than his more demanding third skill.
Skill 3: All-Dominating Fight

All-Dominating Fight is Wang’s defining skill. Its passive effect expands the trigger and damage range of his stones. Triggered stones deal 320% of his ATK as Arts damage at Level 7 and 380% at M3, while mastery lowers the SP cost from 54 to 50.
When activated, Wang stops attacking, expands his range, immediately obtains eight stones, and receives 20 ammo. Excess stones are placed preferentially on enemies within his range. Manually deployed stones can also be placed on enemy-occupied tiles inside that range.
Mold Stones can create up to three additional pieces during each manual placement, consuming an equal amount of ammo. This allows Wang to build a complete attack pattern directly around dangerous enemies rather than preparing every trap before they arrive.
S3 is his best option for bosses, clustered elites, and high-pressure waves.

S1M3 |

Players short on materials should first bring all skills to Level 7, then complete S3M3. S2M3 is the best follow-up because both its damage multiplier and movement reduction improve noticeably. S1 gains a better skill cycle at M3, but it remains the least important mastery for most accounts. Community mastery analysis also places S3 clearly ahead of Wang’s other skills.

Wang Potential Recommendations
Wang is fully functional at Potential 1, so players do not need to chase duplicates.

P3 |

P4 |

P5 |

|
P6 |

Potential 3 is the most noticeable breakpoint because another available stone improves his setup flexibility. Potential 5 strengthens his maximum line damage, but it is a luxury rather than a requirement. One copy is enough for normal and high-difficulty play.
Best Module for Wang
Wang’s current module is TRP-X: Beast-Shaped Stone Container, and it directly improves his trap-based gameplay.
Module Level 1 adds HP and ATK, lowers the deployment cost of his traps, and increases the maximum number of traps that can exist simultaneously. This is the module’s most important practical breakpoint because it makes every stone setup cheaper and less restrictive.
Module Level 2 improves Every Move Anticipated to 12% additional damage and 11 RES ignore per stack. Level 3 increases those values again to 13% damage and 12 RES ignore, alongside additional base stats.
Recommended Upgrading:
Module Level 1 for regular use and efficient investment.
Module Level 3 when Wang is one of your main carries or you frequently play optimized, high-difficulty stages.
The later module upgrades provide real damage gains, but they are less important in routine content than the Level 1 trait upgrade.
How to Play
Read the enemy route before placing stones. A three-stone straight chain will usually provide more value than several disconnected pieces because it reaches the maximum stack of Every Move Anticipated.
Place the trigger stone on a tile enemies are forced to cross, then extend the line through safe or otherwise unused tiles.
With S2, align the connection line with a corridor or intersection so its wide damage area catches the entire wave. With S3, wait until elites or a boss enter Wang’s expanded range before activating it. Use the automatically placed stones as the starting point, then manually add pieces to complete straight chains around the target.
Avoid retreating Wang unnecessarily. His stones disappear when he leaves the battlefield, so redeploying him means rebuilding the entire setup.
Wang Team Composition
Wang does not depend on one specific teammate, but Operators who slow, block, group, or amplify Arts damage can make his stone formations much easier to use.

The most reliable approach is to place a durable blocker near the end of Wang’s prepared line, then use Slow, Bind, or Arts amplification to keep dangerous enemies inside the effective area. However, avoid adding support Operators purely for Wang when the map does not require them. His traps already provide strong damage and control when enemy routes are predictable.

Should You Pull for Wang?
For meta-focused players, Wang is a strong pull recommendation. He combines scalable Arts damage, RES ignore, crowd control, remote lane coverage, and an S3 that bypasses many of the usual restrictions placed on Trapmaster Operators.
His limited status also makes skipping him harder to reverse than skipping a standard Operator. However, no single character is required to clear normal Arknights content, even when that character is considered extremely strong.
Newer players can still get good value from S1 and S2, but Wang’s complete kit requires Elite 2 to unlock Every Move Anticipated, All-Dominating Fight, and his module. Players who dislike manual trap placement or already have an extremely developed roster can still decide based on character preference.
Wang is one of the standout Operators of the 6.5th Anniversary update. Once his stone lines are arranged correctly, he turns enemy routes into his own board—and OSLink can help keep material farming and multi-account Auto Deploy moving while you manage the game remotely.
