Cartethyia Overview

Cartethyia is a 5-star Aero Sword character. She specializes in Aero Erosion to cause damage. So, this hero is going to play the main DPS role with high burst potential, and her kit revolves around a dual-form mechanic. This makes her switch between her small (normal) and adult (Fleurdelys) forms, with the latter activated during her Resonance Liberation or specific skills.

Cartethyia Release Date

Cartethyia is confirmed to be featured in the game from the Wuthering Waves Version 2.4, expected on June 12. She will appear in Phase 1 of the Version 2.4 banners, alongside Lupa in Phase 2, with reruns for Carlotta and Changli.

Wuthering Waves 2.4 Cartethyia’s Kit (Leaked)

Cartethyia Skills

Basic Attacks (Small Form)

In her small form, Cartethyia unleashes fast, fluid sword combos infused with Aero energy. She can chain up to 5 consecutive strikes, each building her Resonance Circuit gauge. These attacks are agile and aggressive, synergizing with her Aero Erosion effect for added pressure.

Heavy Attack

Cartethyia charges up a sword strike that deals increased Aero damage and applies Aero Erosion, causing damage over time. This attack consumes a portion of her Forte gauge, boosting its impact.

Resonance Skill – Winged Storm

She summons a swirling vortex of wind and water, dealing AoE Aero damage while pulling enemies toward the center. Enemies hit are also afflicted with Aero Erosion, which ramps up DoT (damage over time).

  • Cooldown: ~15 seconds

  • In small form: excellent for crowd control.

  • In adult form: increased damage and wider range.

  • Resonance Liberation – Twin Resonance:

Cartethyia transforms into her adult form, unlocking a new attack module with enhanced animations. She releases a powerful Aero gale followed by a large Aero Explosion. This form boosts both Aero Erosion damage and its duration. Once the skill ends or she switches out, she returns to her small form.

  • Forte Gauge – Resonance Circuit:

This gauge builds up as you land basic attacks, heavy attacks, and Resonance Skill hits. When full, your next Resonance Liberation triggers a massive Aero Erosion burst, boosting AoE damage significantly.

  • Intro Skill:

Cartethyia dashes forward and slashes with her sword, dealing Aero damage and applying Aero Erosion to a single target.

  • Outro Skill:

She leaves behind a swirling Aero vortex that deals periodic Aero Erosion damage to enemies inside for 8 seconds. It also boosts the next character’s Aero damage by 10% for 10 seconds.

Passive Abilities

There are several passive abilities with Cartethyia as follows.

  1. Inherent Skill: When enemies are affected by the Aero Erosion, Cartethiya increases the Aero Erosion damage by 20%.

  2. Team Buff: She begins a 15% Aero damage bonus to the entire team when she is active.

Dual-Form Mechanic

Since Wuthering Waves Cartethyia has two forms, she acts very differently in each as follows.

  • Small Form: Good at quick, smooth attacks and building up the Resonance Circuit. Best for keeping up steady damage and starting Aero Erosion..

  • Adult Form: This form is triggered by Resonance Liberation and focuses on strong burst damage, bigger area attacks, and powerful Aero Erosion blasts. The adult form only lasts for a short time and mostly shows up during skills or ultimate moves, not while exploring the open world.

Potential Glacio Interaction

Wuthering Waves leaks suggest that the Cartethyia might incorporate Glacio (ice) elements when she is in her adult form. This can be a secondary damage type or visual effect, and this is just an expectation and unconfirmed. But if it is there, it is going to add synergy with Glacio characters like Yinlin or Sanhua.

Cartethyia Echoes

Gusts of Welkin

This set is most likely going to be customized for Carethyia to increase her Resonance Skill as well as the Aero Erosion. 2-piece here gives +10% Aero Damage, while 5-piece, after using the Intro Skill, gives +30% Aero Damage

Alternative: Moonlit Clouds

The two-piece set here brings an increased 10& of energy regeneration, and the 5-piece set can increase the attack by 22% after using the Outro skill. It will be applied to the next character.

Main Echo: Reminiscence: Fleurdelys (Calamity Class)

This is a possible new Echo linked to Cartethyia’s weekly boss form in Version 2.2. It likely boosts Aero Erosion damage and creates strong area Aero bursts. The skill calls a storm that deals area Aero damage and adds Aero Erosion, which fits well with Cartethyia’s abilities. For stats, focus on Aero Damage %, Critical Rate, and Critical Damage.

Echo Stats Priority

Main Stats:

  • 4-Cost: Critical Rate or Critical Damage

  • 3-Cost: Aero Damage %

  • 3-Cost: ATK %

Sub Stats:

  • Critical Rate

  • Critical Damage

  • ATK %

  • Energy Regeneration

  • Resonance Skill Damage

Cartethyia Team Compositions

The recommended teams for her are (DoT-heavy or Aero-focused team):

Aero Synergy Team

  1. Cartethyia (Main DPS): Handles primary damage via Aero Erosion.

  2. Aero Rover (Sub-DPS): Complements Cartethyia with additional Aero damage and party-wide healing (unlocked in Version 2.2).

  3. Verina (Support): Provides healing, ATK buffs, and coordinated attack damage.

  4. Echoes: Gusts of Welkin for Cartethyia and Rover; Rejuvenating Glow for Verina.

F2P-Friendly Team

  1. Cartethyia (Main DPS).

  2. Yangyang (Sub-DPS/Support): Boosts Aero damage and provides energy regeneration.

  3. Baizhi (Healer): Offers healing and minor buffs for sustainability.

  4. Echoes: Gusts of Welkin for Cartethyia and Yangyang; Rejuvenating Glow for Baizhi.

That is everything else you need to make the most of Cartethyia in battle, skills, echoes, and team synergies. Stay tuned for Wuthering Waves 2.4 update.
