Drake: Great Villain is the unit that finally lets Matis stop pretending it was finished. If you pulled Laplace: Ultimate Hero or Maxwell: Ordinary Mechanic and have been waiting for another HP-scaling piece that fits naturally into the same team, this is the banner you’ve been waiting for. This Goddess of Victory: NIKKE Drake: Great Villain build guide covers her role, skills, Overload and Harmony Cube builds, best teams, and whether she’s worth pulling before her banner ends.

Commanders who run multiple accounts for daily raids, bond farming, and the slow grind for skill manuals already know the real problem isn’t Gems—it’s the time spent managing everything. OSLink can help by letting you keep your extra accounts farming and leveling while you focus on your main roster. Instead of leaving your secondary accounts sitting in the lobby, you can keep them clearing content, collecting resources, and preparing materials for your next Drake: Great Villain build.

GODDESS OF VICTORY: NIKKE Drake: Great Villain is an SSR Defender from Missilis Industry and a member of the Matis squad. Unlike the original Fire-element Drake, this version focuses on Wind-element damage, Max HP scaling, and a unique Full Burst weapon transformation, allowing her to function as more than a traditional Defender.

Her defining mechanic is her Max HP-based scaling. Skill 2 converts a portion of her final Max HP into ATK, letting her large HP pool directly increase her offensive power. This also makes her a strong fit for teams built around Max HP scaling, particularly HP-focused Matis compositions.
During Full Burst, Drake: Great Villain transforms her normal shotgun into Super Duper Overdrive, a charge-based weapon that fires 15 pellets per shot and significantly increases her damage potential during the Burst window. After Full Burst ends, she also increases the Max HP of all allies, with the effect stacking up to four times.
Overall, Drake: Great Villain is best viewed as a hybrid damage dealer and HP-support unit. She can deal respectable damage, strengthen Max HP-focused teammates, and provide team utility without necessarily occupying the team's Burst III slot every rotation.
Drake: Great Villain Skills
Drake: Great Villain’s kit revolves around Max HP scaling, Full Burst weapon transformation, and teamwide Max HP increases. Unlike a traditional shotgun attacker, she becomes much more powerful during Full Burst while also providing long-term value to HP-scaling allies.
Understanding how her weapon and passive skills interact is important for getting the most out of her damage and support potential.
Weapon – Villain Night Carnival
Villain Night Carnival is Drake: Great Villain’s signature shotgun. Outside of Full Burst, it deals 201.5% ATK damage with 200% Core Damage, has 9 rounds of ammunition, and takes approximately 1.5 seconds to reload.

The weapon changes when Full Burst begins. At that point, Villain Night Carnival transforms into Super Duper Overdrive, replacing its normal attack pattern with a powerful charge-based attack.
This transformation is one of the most important parts of Drake: Great Villain’s kit, as her strongest damage comes from using Overdrive during the Full Burst window.
Skill 1 – Super Duper Overdrive
Super Duper Overdrive activates automatically when the team enters Full Burst, transforming Drake: Great Villain’s weapon for the duration of the effect.
While active, the weapon has a fixed 1.5-second charge time and fires 15 pellets per shot. Each shot deals 243.75% of final ATK, while a fully charged attack has a 300% damage multiplier. The transformed weapon holds a maximum of 6 rounds.
However, there is an important limitation. When Super Duper Overdrive ends, 100% of the remaining ammunition is removed.
This means Drake: Great Villain should not be built around maximizing ammunition capacity. The transformed weapon exists specifically for the Full Burst damage window, so the goal is to make the most of those six shots before the transformation ends.
Skill 2 – Fashionably Late Villain
Fashionably Late Villain is the skill that defines Drake: Great Villain’s HP-scaling playstyle.
At the start of battle, she continuously increases her ATK by 6.23% of her final Max HP. Because this effect scales from her final Max HP, increasing Drake: Great Villain’s HP also directly improves her offensive power.

The skill also provides a teamwide effect whenever Full Burst ends. All allies gain 10.5% of Drake: Great Villain’s Max HP as additional Max HP, with the effect stacking up to four times.
At maximum stacks, this provides a total Max HP increase equal to 42% of Drake: Great Villain’s Max HP for the team.
This is what makes Skill 2 so valuable beyond Drake’s personal damage. The additional Max HP can also benefit teammates whose own skills or damage formulas scale from HP, allowing Drake: Great Villain to function as both a damage dealer and an HP-support unit.
Burst Skill – Special Villainous Web
Special Villainous Web is Drake: Great Villain’s Burst III skill and has a 40-second cooldown.
When activated, Drake: Great Villain gains 27.5% Attack Damage for 25 seconds. The Burst also deals 1350% of final ATK as damage to all enemies.
The Burst has a visible delay before the web damage lands, so it should not be treated as an instant arena-clearing attack. Instead, it works as an additional damage window that can be combined with Drake’s existing HP-based ATK scaling and her other self-buffs.
An important part of Drake: Great Villain’s kit is that she does not need to use her own Burst to activate Super Duper Overdrive. The weapon transformation happens when the team enters Full Burst. This gives her the flexibility to remain an off-Burst damage dealer while another Burst III Nikke uses the team's Burst slot.
How Her Skills Work Together
Drake: Great Villain’s gameplay becomes much easier to understand when her skills are viewed as one system:
Max HP → ATK → Full Burst → Overdrive → Team Max HP → More HP scaling
Her Skill 2 turns Max HP into offensive power, while the end-of-Full-Burst effect increases the team's Max HP over time. Meanwhile, Skill 1 gives her a powerful temporary weapon during Full Burst.
Because Overdrive activates automatically when Full Burst begins, Drake can contribute her strongest weapon attacks without necessarily pressing Burst herself. This is a major part of her team-building value and is why she can work as either a secondary carry or an off-Burst HP-support damage dealer.
Best Drake: Great Villain Build
Building Drake: Great Villain is different from building a traditional shotgun DPS. Her damage is heavily tied to Max HP, while her strongest weapon mode is active only during Full Burst. Because of this, the best build focuses on increasing her HP scaling and maximizing the damage she can deal during the Overdrive window.
Skill Priority
Skill 2 is the most important skill in Drake: Great Villain’s kit because it directly converts her Max HP into ATK while also providing Max HP to the entire team.

For most Commanders, the recommended skill investment is:
|
Skill |
Priority |
Recommended Level |
Why |
|
Skill 2 – Fashionably Late Villain |
Highest |
10 |
Improves her HP-to-ATK scaling and teamwide Max HP support |
|
Skill 1 – Super Duper Overdrive |
High |
7 |
Improves her Full Burst weapon damage |
|
Burst – Special Villainous Web |
Medium |
4–7 |
Improves Burst damage and self-buff |
|
Burst for PvP |
Situational |
7–10 |
Worth investing further if she is part of your Arena strategy |
A good long-term target is 7/10/7 for Skill 1 / Skill 2 / Burst. If resources are limited, 7/7/4 is a comfortable stopping point, while 4/7/4 works as a budget setup.
Harmony Cube Priority
Vigor Cube is the preferred Harmony Cube for Drake: Great Villain because Max HP directly contributes to her ATK through Fashionably Late Villain.
|
Harmony Cube |
Priority |
Why Use It? |
|
Vigor Cube
|
Best |
Max HP directly improves her HP-to-ATK scaling |
|
Resilience / Relic Bear
|
Strong Alternative |
Reload Speed helps after Overdrive ends while her Attack Damage buff remains active |
|
Destruction Cube
|
Situational |
Useful for longer boss encounters and sustained damage |
|
Assault Cube
|
Situational |
Hit Rate can help more pellets connect with smaller targets |
|
Bastion / Ammo-focused Cubes
|
Avoid |
Overdrive removes remaining ammunition when the transformation ends |
If another HP-scaling Nikke needs your highest-level Vigor Cube more than Drake does, Resilience is a reasonable alternative. Drake still benefits from Reload Speed because her 25-second Attack Damage buff continues after the Overdrive weapon disappears.
Overload Gear Lines
Drake: Great Villain's Overload priorities should focus on the stats that improve her Wind-weak boss damage and Overdrive attacks rather than simply stacking ATK%.
|
Overload Line |
Priority |
Reason |
|
Elemental Advantage / Superior Code Damage |
Highest |
Extremely valuable against Wind-weak enemies |
|
Charge Damage |
High |
Improves the damage of her charge-based Overdrive attacks |
|
Critical Damage |
High |
Multiplies her already high damage output |
|
Critical Rate |
High |
Gives her more opportunities to benefit from Critical Damage |
|
ATK % |
Medium |
Still useful, but less valuable because of her HP-based ATK scaling |
|
Hit Rate |
Filler |
Helps her shotgun pellets connect more consistently |
|
Max Ammo |
Avoid |
Remaining Overdrive ammunition is removed when the transformation ends |
For an optimized Drake: Great Villain, prioritize Elemental Advantage lines first, followed by Charge Damage and Critical stats.

Max Ammo is particularly inefficient on her because the Overdrive weapon has a six-round limit and any remaining ammunition is removed when the Full Burst transformation ends. Increasing the magazine therefore provides much less value than it would on a conventional shotgun DPS.
Doll Recommendation
A Purple Doll at Level 15 is an important part of a fully invested Drake: Great Villain build.
The additional HP from the Doll contributes to the Max HP that her Skill 2 uses for its ATK conversion. The Doll's Normal Attack Damage can also improve the damage dealt by her Overdrive attacks.
For commanders planning to use Drake: Great Villain as a long-term raid or endgame unit, upgrading her Doll should therefore be part of the investment plan rather than leaving her with a low-level or temporary Doll.
Investment Order
If you want to build Drake: Great Villain efficiently without wasting resources, follow this order:
-
Upgrade her Doll and Max HP sources: Build toward a Level 15 Purple Doll and prioritize equipment that increases the HP value feeding her Skill 2.
-
Level Skill 2 first: Take Fashionably Late Villain to 7, then eventually to 10. This is the core of her scaling and team utility.
-
Level Skill 1 next: Bring Super Duper Overdrive to 7 so her Full Burst transformation can contribute meaningful damage.
-
Invest in Burst afterward: Take Special Villainous Web to 4–7 depending on your resources. Push it further if you specifically plan to use Drake as your Burst III damage dealer.
-
Optimize Overload Gear: Once her core skills are established, start chasing Elemental Advantage, Charge Damage, and Critical lines rather than spending resources trying to maximize ATK% or Max Ammo.

This is the best overall team for Drake: Great Villain and the most natural home for her kit. Rouge, Maxwell: Ordinary Mechanic, and Laplace: Ultimate Hero all benefit from Drake's HP-focused support, with Laplace gaining particularly strong value from her Max HP buffs.
Drake can remain an off-Burst unit because Super Duper Overdrive activates automatically when Full Burst begins, allowing Laplace to take the main Burst III role while Drake continues dealing damage and building the team's Max HP.
2. HP Scaling / Cinderella Team
Focus: Multiple HP-scaling damage dealers

This team takes advantage of Drake's HP support by pairing her with Cinderella and Laplace: Ultimate Hero, giving the team multiple damage dealers that can benefit from HP scaling.
Drake works mainly as a passive support and secondary DPS, allowing the primary Burst III damage dealer to take priority while she provides her HP buffs and Full Burst weapon damage.
3. Wind Raid Team
Focus: Wind-weak bosses and Raid damage

This composition is designed for Wind-weak Raid bosses, where Drake can take advantage of her Wind element, HP scaling, and charge-based damage.
Rouge and Maxwell strengthen the HP-focused core, while Laplace adds another damage dealer and Crown provides additional survivability. This is a strong Wind Raid option, although the ideal lineup can change depending on the boss mechanics and available damage dealers.
